description: This web service is sourced from the Tsunami Alternative Scenarios Inundation Frequency mosaic located in SQL03PROD_RASTER_GISWebEditor.sde database. This data shows the proportion of scenarios that inundate a given point for multiple different tsunami scenarios. The modelling assumes high tide (mean high water springs) and calm sea conditions. It does not include future sea level rise. The data has been used, along with other logistical and communication considerations, to define tsunami evacuation zones in Canterbury. It can be used for public education, for engineering lifelines planning, some land use planning and by Civil Defence Emergency Management during tsunami events. The data should not be used to make independent decisions that contradict official advice. Links to modelling reports, references, data currency, and vertical datums of results are detailed in the mosaic attribute table. Please contact Daniel Ward (daniel.ward@ecan.govt.nz) or Nick Griffiths (nick.griffiths@ecan.govt.nz) for any queries regarding this data.
